PART TIME ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR
The City of Spencer, through its ownership of the Northern Plains Regional Landfill, is now accepting applications for the position of Environmental Education Coordinator. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour. This is a part time position and hours are expected to average about 20 hours per week. This is a new position and the selected person will be responsible for creating the Landfill’s education program that will be presented to local schools, civic groups and communities. The Landfill serves the City of Spencer and unincorporated Clay County, as well as Emmet, Palo Alto and Pocahontas counties. Employee must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Bachelor degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university or equivalent work experience in a field related to position is preferred and at least two years of related experience in positions that may include outreach, training and development, teaching, program management, communications, and/or public relations is preferred. A valid driver’s license is also required. A reliable source of transportation will be required when a city owned vehicle is not available.
