SPENCER  A.D.A. TASK FORCE

Mission Statement

Through education and advocacy, we take steps to eliminate barriers and build community understanding.

History:  The City of Spencer organized the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Task Force of Spencer on May 12, 1992 to provide assistance to the City in complying with the ADA .  What began as a group of ten interested volunteers has grown to a Task Force of more than thirty members. The Spencer ADA Task force has evolved as a non-threatening group of individuals who act as technical and humanitarian resources to businesses, industries, and persons with disabilities. The Task Force has been recognized on national, state and local levels for it’s assistance in promoting disability awareness. The Task Force has also developed a recognition program to recognize those businesses and organizations that have made significant improvements or increased services for persons with disabilities in the community.
